Be an Explorer!

  1. Always be looking for new adventures.
  2. Notice the ground beneath your feet.
  3. Use all of the senses in your investigative work.
  4. Look closely and you’ll be enchanted by the smallest, mundane things.
  5. Notice patterns, make connections, and watch the plots unravel all around.
  6. Consider everything to be animate and alive.
  7. Create a personal dialogue with and talk to your surroundings.
  8. Alter your course often. (And don’t write off the untrod paths — which you may wish to revisit.)
  9. Observe for long and short durations.
  10. Trace things back to their origins.
  11. Document your findings and share your field notes.
